Founded in 1988 by 17 leading Hong Kong jewellery manufacturers, the Association aims to service the interests of jewellery manufacturers in Hong Kong by increasing productivity and strengthening their ability to compete with overseas manufacturers.

The mission of HKJJA is to strengthen the Hong Kong jewellery industry through exploring business opportunities and promoting members’ interest. The association is constantly enhancing its role, as information provider and in promoting technological application.
India- Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council
The Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council in Bombay (Mumbai) represents exporters of gems and jewellery from India. Set up in 1966, it is a non-profit organization involved with the promotion of all Gems and jewellery exports and sales activities.
Ireland- Dublin Assay Office
The Dublin Assay Office was established in 1637 to supervise the assaying of all gold and silver throughout the whole of Ireland. Originally, hallmarks consisted of the goldsmiths’ proper mark which was the maker’s mark originally used to identify the silversmith or goldsmith responsible for making the article. The fineness mark, the harp crown was applied to 22 carat gold and sterling silver, which was silver of a standard of 925 parts of fine silver in each 1000.
Israel- Israel Jewellery Manufacturing Association (IJMA)
IJMA is a non-profit national organization, representing the jewellery manufacturers in Israel. Its main objective is to provide the industry with skilled manpower, and to create the infrastructure for the manufacture and marketing of high quality jewellery for exports and the Israeli market.
Italy – Confedorafi
The Italian Union of Federations and National Category Associations, grouping together manufacturers, craftsmen, wholesalers, retailers, agents and representatives of gold, jewellery, silver, timepieces, precious metals, diamonds, precious stones, pearls, corals and similar articles.
CONFEDORAFI was founded in 1945 and represents the Italian gold and silverware sector before the official institutions; carries out union activity and governs the interest of the categories represented autonomously by the single Federations; harmonises the demands of the individual categories in the general interests of the sector; promotes the “Made in Italy” image; and cooperates with the principal gold fairs.
Japan- Japan Jewellery Association Corporation (JJA)
A public-service corporation representing jewellery manufacturers, wholesalers and retailers in Japan. JJA is active in the development and promotion of the jewellery industry and international exchange under the support and guidance of the Ministry of International Trade and Industry and other agencies, and with the cooperation of related industrial organizations.
Lithuania- Lietuvos Prabavimo Rumai
Lithuanian Assay Office founded in 1991 after the restoration of the independence of the Republic of Lithuania. Among other tasks, its main responsibility is control testing, assaying of all articles of precious metals and gemstones intended for sale in the Republic of Lithuania or for export/import.
Netherlands- Federatie Goud & Zilver
Federatie Goud & Zilver (Gold and Silver Federation) oversees the various member organizations of the gold and silver industry in the Netherlands.
Norway- Norges Gullsmedforbund
Norwegian Goldsmiths Association for retailers, wholesalers and producers of gold, silver and pewter jewellery and other finished products.
Portugal- Associacao Do Industrais De Ouriversaria e Relojoaria do Norte
Association for the jewellery and watchmaking industries of the north of Portugal. The association’s members are manufacturers of precious metal jewellery.
South Africa- South African Jewellery Manufacturers’ Association (SAJMA)
The recently established South African Jewellery Manufacturers’ Association (SAJMA), comprising manufacturing jewellers across the country, represents this sector of the industry.

Jewellers Association of South Africa (JASA)
Approximately one third of South Africa’s 3,000 retail jewellery stores are represented by the Jewellers Association of South Africa (JASA).
JASA plays an active role in representing the interests of the retail jewellers on a broad range of issues. It aggressively promotes the awareness and sale of fine jewellery in South Africa. It is also responsible for the creation and development of training programmes designed to enhance the professionalism of the trade on all levels.
Furthermore, JASA provides an important interface between retail jewellers and the consumer through the provision of information and the resolution of differences that may arise in the course of trade.

De Beers Consolidated Mines Ltd., AngloGold, Anglo American Platinum Corporation and the Chamber of Mines, who represent the majority of gold and platinum producers in South Africa, are all Constituent Bodies of the Jewellery Council of South Africa.
Jewellery Council Information Centre
The Jewellery Council Information Centre offers a wide range of information on the South African diamond, jewellery and watch industry for consumers, retailers, wholesalers, manufacturers, importers and exporters.

Training Programmes
The Jewellery Council of South Africa has established training facilities for jewellery manufacturers at tertiary educational institutions throughout South Africa. A 3-year National Diploma in Jewellery Manufacture and Design is offered to students.
In addition, the diamond and jewellery industry have been incorporated into the Mining and Quarrying Sector Education Training Authority and play an integral part of the training of students and apprentices in South Africa.
The Jewellers’ Association of South Africa (JASA) runs the “Professionalism Through Knowledge” entry-level training programme for sales people, the content of which is continuously updated in keeping with world trends.

Thailand-Thai Gem & Jewelry Traders Association
Aimed at protecting and promoting the jewellery industry, the association’s primary purpose is to provide those in the industry with a forum for the exchange of views and the gathering of business and market intelligence, as well as achieving growth in its export and domestic sales of gems and jewellery.
Turkey- Istanbul Chamber of Goldsmiths
The Istanbul Chamber of Goldsmiths groups Turkish manufacturers of gold products, and provides services and trade information.
United Kingdom- The British Jewellers’ Association (BJA)
BJA is the voice of the manufacturing jewellery industry in the UK, representing the interests of member companies ranging from precious and fashion jewellery manufacturers, dealers in precious stones, pearls and metals, silversmiths and designer craftsmen, to wholesalers and a growing number of jewellery retailers.
National Association of Goldsmiths (NAG)
The National Association of Goldsmiths (NAG) was founded in 1894 and is the national professional association of retail jewellers in the UK and Ireland. It supports the industry and promotes excellence and high ethical standards.

United States- Manufacturing Jewelers & Suppliers of America (MJSA)
The only American trade association exclusively representing jewellery manufacturers and their suppliers. MJSA also offers training and education including school-to-career programs and technical training for skilled craftspeople.

Jewelers of America is the nation’s largest jewelry retail organization, counting more than 10,000 members nationwide.
Zimbabwe- Jewellery Council of Zimbabwe (JCZ)
The Jewellery Council of Zimbabwe (JCZ) represents 44 member companies, both large and small involved in all aspects of jewellery and silverware production. Member firms are spread throughout the country and include precious jewellery manufacturers, dealers in precious stones, pearls and metals, silversmiths, designer craftsmen, wholesalers and a large number of jewellery retailers.
The JCZ has provided leadership to the industry in Zimbabwe for 30 years and through its activities is largely involved in shaping the industry’s future.
The JCZ provides it’s members with a number of business services. These include training seminars for staff and management alike, and a bi-monthly publication “Facets” newsletter, keeping members up to date on events, educational articles, gold and gemstones prices, video and book library, interesting articles and classified advertisements.
